The Best Homemade Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Equipment

  • 1 meat grinder optional
  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 small bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs ground pork or meat of your choice
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp ground sage
  • 2 tsp ground fennel seed
  • 2 tsp thyme
  • 3 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions
 

  • Run 2lbs of pork butt through a meat grinder twice. You can also buy plain ground pork and save this step.
  • Mix all of your dry spices together in a small bowl.
  • In a large bowl combine the dry spices with the ground pork. Use your hands to get all of the spices well incorporated into the meat.
  • Shape into patties.
  • Cook on medium heat until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees and your patties are golden brown.
