Magnesium Oil Spray

Prep Time10 minutes
Cooling time30 minutes

Equipment

  • Glass spray bottles (for storage)
  • Double boiler or a small pot and heat-resistant bowl
  • Measuring cup
  • Whisk or spoon (for stirring)
  • Funnel (optional, for transferring to the bottle)

Materials

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 1 cup magnesium chloride flakes

Instructions

  • Use the measuring cup to measure out 1 cup of magnesium chloride flakes and 1 cup of distilled water.
  • Pour the distilled water into the top part of your double boiler or a heat-resistant bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Warm the water until it’s hot but not boiling.
  • Gradually add the magnesium chloride flakes to the hot water, stirring continuously with your whisk or spoon until the flakes are completely dissolved.
  • Allow the solution to cool to room temperature. This step is crucial for safety and to ensure the solution is comfortable to apply to your skin.
  • Once cooled add approximately 25 drops of your preferred essential oils. (Optional)
  • Once cooled, use a funnel to transfer the magnesium oil solution into your glass spray bottle. If you don’t have a funnel, you can carefully pour the solution directly from the bowl.
  • Labeling your spray bottle with the contents and the date made is a good practice. This helps you keep track of freshness and identify the bottle among other DIY products you might have.

Notes

How to Use:

  • Spray the magnesium oil directly onto your skin, focusing on areas like the legs, arms, and stomach, especially after showering when your skin is most receptive.
  • Massage the oil gently into your skin to aid absorption.
  • Start with small amounts to see how your skin reacts and gradually increase usage as your skin becomes accustomed to the oil.
  • Use daily to support muscle function, improve sleep quality, and increase your body's magnesium levels.
