How to Make Sugar Cubes for Coffee and Tea

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • fork
  • measuring spoons
  • Silicone mold or candy molds
  • Spoon or bench scraper (optional)
  • Airtight container (for storage)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons water added 1 teaspoon at a time

Instructions
 

  • Add 1 cup of sugar to a bowl.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of water and mix gently with a fork. Add the second teaspoon of water and mix again until the sugar has the texture of wet sand.
  • Spoon the damp sugar into a silicone mold, filling each cavity.
  • Press the sugar down firmly using the back of a spoon or bench scraper so it packs evenly.
  • Let the sugar cubes air dry at room temperature for 24 hours.
  • Once fully dry, gently remove from the mold.
  • Store in an airtight container. Use 1–2 cubes per cup of coffee or tea.
