Homemade Shower Steamers

Equipment

  • large mixing bowl
  • whisk/spoon
  • spray bottle
  • silicone mold or muffin tin with liners
  • Airtight container (for storage)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • 2 tsp essential oils (1/2 tsp mint, 1/2 tsp lavender, 1 tsp eucalyptus)
  • dried lavender buds or other florals (for decoration) optional

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, whisk together baking soda and citric acid until evenly combined.
  • Drizzle in essential oils and mix well to evenly distribute the scent.
  • Lightly mist with water from a spray bottle, mixing as you go, until the texture resembles damp sand and holds its shape when pressed.
  • Firmly press the mixture into silicone molds or muffin tins. For decoration, sprinkle dried lavender buds at the bottom of the molds before adding the mixture.
  • Allow the steamers to air dry at room temperature for 24 hours.
  • Gently remove the steamers from the molds and store them in an airtight container to preserve their freshness.
