Homemade Mint Extract

Equipment

  • 1 8 oz glass jar
  • 1 fine mesh strainer or coffee filters
  • 1 lable

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup mint leaves
  • 1 cup vodka

Instructions
 

  • Rinse and pat dry the mint leaves.
  • Gently bruise the leaves to release their oils.
  • Place the bruised mint leaves in the glass jar.
  • Pour the cup of vodka over the leaves, ensuring they are completely submerged.
  • Seal the jar tightly.
  • Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.
  • Shake the jar gently every couple of days.
  • After 6 weeks, strain the extract through a coffee filter or fine mesh strainer into a dark bottle.
  • Label your bottle with the contents and date.
  • Use in your favorite recipes for a fresh mint flavor.
