Homemade Bulk Taco Seasoning

Equipment

  • small bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Airtight container or mason jar for storage
  • Spoon or whisk for mixing

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup chili powder use mild or ancho chili powder if preferred
  • 1/2 cup ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons paprika or smoked paprika for smoky flavor
  • 3 tablespoons onion powder
  • 4 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano or Mexican oregano
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • Optional: 1–2 teaspoons cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for heat for heat

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a small bowl.
  • Stir or whisk until well combined.
  • Pour into an airtight container or mason jar.
  • Label with the name and date.
  • Store in a cool, dry, dark place like your spice cabinet.

Notes

To Use:
Use 2 tablespoons of seasoning per 1 pound of meat.
Add with 2/3 cup of water after browning the meat and simmer until thickened.
