Gut-Healthy Bone Broth Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup bone broth
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream coconut cream works well for a dairy free option
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or milk replacement of your choice
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 2 tsp stevia
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 scoop collagen peptides optional
  • 1 dash cinnamon optional
  • marshmallows optional

Instructions
 

  • Start by pouring your cup of bone broth and 3/4 cup heavy cream into a medium pot.
  • Add 1/2 cup of whole cow's milk or any other milk of your choice.
  • Heat the mixture on medium heat, ensuring it doesn't come to a boil but is warm enough to dissolve the other ingredients.
  • Next, stir in 2 tablespoons of fermented cacao powder.
  • To avoid clumps of cocoa powder, whisk continuously until the cacao powder is well integrated into the clear liquid.
  • For the sweetness, add 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and 2 teaspoons of stevia.
  • Finally, for an extra layer of flavor and health, add a scoop of collagen peptides.
  • After simmering on low/medium heat until all ingredients are warm and well combined, pour the hot chocolate into a mug.
  • Top with marshmallows and a dash of cinnmamon. (optional)
