Bring 1.5 cups of water to a boil. Add dried elderberries and cinnamon sticks.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30–45 minutes until the liquid reduces.
In a separate bowl, whisk the arrowroot powder with ½ cup of water and set aside.
Strain the elderberries and cinnamon sticks from the pot.
Return the liquid to low heat and whisk in the arrowroot mixture until thickened.
If the syrup becomes too thick, add water 1 tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
Allow the mixture to cool below 104°F. Stir in the honey, and add lemon juice or maple syrup if desired.
Pour the syrup into silicone molds and freeze until firm.
Carefully remove the tea bombs. They will remain slightly pliable, so handle gently.
Transfer them to a freezer-safe container or bag for storage.
To use, place one bomb into a mug of hot water or melt it into an already-made tea like green tea, Earl Grey, or any herbal tea you enjoy.
