Easy Lazy Lasagna

Equipment

  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • Large cast iron skillet or oven-safe skillet
  • Colander
  • measuring cups/ spoons
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz pasta noodles bowtie, mini lasagna noodles, or campanelle
  • 1 lb lean ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 24 oz pasta sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 16 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Boil pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add ground beef or sausage. Brown the meat, breaking it into small pieces.
  • Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion softens.
  • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  • Add pasta sauce. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
  • Stir in ricotta cheese and parmesan cheese until fully blended.
  • Turn off heat and mix in the cooked pasta until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  • Place skillet under broiler for 2–4 minutes, until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
